Lone Shark - Synchromatic EP

Pyramid's latest release gets off to an understated start, with the offbeat, atmospheric 'Battle Gongs'. However, London producer Lone Shark quickly ups the tempo with the dense, dancefloor inflections of 'D-Spot' and 'Krunk', which flits from 4/4s to breaks and back again to an intricate percussive backdrop. Best of all though is 'Pirates', where Lone Shark marries the sweet melodies of '90s electronica with lithe, hyper-speed breaks. ****1/2 - Electro 'Money Shot
